The above web address was very useful whilst researching into the Last Supper
and the religious valuves it holds. It explains the deciples roles and what
'Last Supper' meant.
When I first saw the title 'The Staged Image/Photo Tableau' I thought of such imagery as Jesus feeding the 5000, Adam & Eve, Moses parting the water and The Last Supper. I then remembered an Image by Annie Leibovitz from a program on Channel 4.
Annie Leibovitz - The Sopranos
Within this image Leibovitz tires to represent the personalities of The Sopranos characters in the same composition as the original by Da Vinci. Annie Leibovitz used a more modern setting for the time in which i was taken, therefor making the image more consistant throughout with the 'modern family'. Each of the Sopranos cast are playing the part of the Deciples and mimicing their poses.
Tony Soprano plays the posistion of Christ, therefore making the viewer see him as the leader, with the other members of the mob (the deciples) looking up to him.
